Resources

How to begin?
There are a number of resources available to us at McMaster that we recommend utilizing when creating your video. Our recommendations are:
  1. Lynda.com, which provides training on all major video editing programs and all versions of a product and is available free in the Lyons New Media Centre on two workstations.
  2. Online Workshops through the McMaster 24 Hour Film Festival, which are a series of 20 workshops that can be used that cover topics such as:
    1. Elements of a story
    2. Camera shots to evoke certain feelings
    3. Playing with continuity, time and space
    4. Making video for a specific audience
    5. Structuring/Planning
    6. Storyboarding

The next step is to rent a camera and get started!

So you borrowed one of our GoPros, and you're ready to get editing!
Good thing we have the Lyons New Media Centre right on campus! No matter your level of experience with media editing, or software of choice, you can't go wrong with stopping by. The helpful folks at the info desk can give you some quick pointers, or you can attend iClimate's introductory video editing workshop this fall.
